Friday Reflections…

It’s been a heck of a week!

The election here in the US on Tuesday…  I can honestly say it’s the first time in I can’t even remember how long that I’m actually excited to see how the next 4 years will play out.  I’m quite proud of this country this week.

We sat around the Crown talking about the election Tuesday and discussing the returns.  This may not sound unusual to some people, sitting around a bar talking election results.  Consider for a moment though, a good  portion of the crowd sitting there were brits.  They didn’t vote and yet were interested enough in the election to stay up well past 2-3am to see the results.  I could go into any number of reasons why they were so interested… let’s just leave it at YAY. ;)

Guy Fawkes was Wednesday… In true Crown and Pearl fashion the sky was lit up.  There are a bunch of pics up on peoples flickr streams.  I took about 100 myself and will post a few when I get some time.  Thank you Prad for the fireworks.  It was a good time for everyone. :)

I’m tired just thinking about it all.  Good thing it’s Friday and the weekend right around the corner!

OK, since you haven’t even sent a yes or no, I need to keep writing here I guess. I’m not trying to invade your space, but you don’t communicate with me to tell me where the issues are.

You seem to think I’m just some guy with a keyborad. I’m not. I see what you write and I feel that. If things were reversed, you’d see my point. Please try that for 2 seconds!

If this is good for you, why not me? These are your words:

“Can you fall in love with someone you’ve never met in RL, that you’ve only spoken to in text or voice or skype? Personally I think you can.”

“Love and Sex, hot topics it seems lately. I’ll jump in, why not. Ahuva posted an interesting question on her blog http://ahuva18.wordpress.com/ asking what falling in love meant to the reader. For me, it’s being vulnerable and giddy all at the same time. Being vulnerable doesn’t always need to be a bad thing. There is nothing like that feeling you get when love is new. You can’t wait to see them and talk to them. So much to tell them. You want to share every moment of your life with them. You get a smile just thinking about them. The room brightens when they enter. Later that feeling becomes a warm blanket you wrap around you. Not to hide under but to feel safe in. To me, that’s love.”

Be fair!!!

I’ve been really excited about the US elections all week. It might seem amazing, or crazy, or both, that us Brits and anyone else around the world takes so much of an interest. But America is one of the worlds most powerful countries, and it’s a certainty that whomever was elected as President over there would not only have an effect on the US, but the entire world.

Basically our Prime Ministers have always kissed the President’s ass, and whatever decision based on finances or war, etc, that the President makes – Britain is almost certain to praise it and join. So this election has meant alot to us too in that respect.

I’m upset I missed the fireworks in the Crown on Wednesday, although I did to enjoy RL ones with family – so it’s not all bad <3
